No Tax on Tips Calc

Terms of use and disclaimer

No Tax on Tips Calc is a free estimating tool. Using it means accepting these terms.

Estimates, not advice

Results are estimates built from the figures and simplifications described in the methodology. They are not tax advice, legal advice or payroll advice, and they are not a determination of your eligibility for the qualified-tips deduction, of any state’s treatment of your income, or of what an employer owes you. Your actual tax depends on facts the calculator does not ask about — credits, other deductions, the alternative minimum tax, residency, local taxes, and whether each tip meets the regulation’s definition. Whether a wage was underpaid depends on the employer’s coverage, notices, tip-pool practices and local law. Rely on the IRS, your state revenue department, your state labor department or a qualified professional before filing a return or a claim.

Accuracy

We verify every figure against a primary source and publish the verification date, but laws and rates change, sometimes retroactively, and agencies occasionally revise their own guidance. We make no warranty that any figure is complete, current or free of error, and the site is provided “as is.” If you find a mistake, please report it; we correct confirmed errors promptly.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its results, including tax, interest, penalties or unpaid wages.

Use of the site

You may use the calculator for personal or professional purposes and link to any page. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, misrepresent its results as official, or copy its pages wholesale. Government material quoted here remains in the public domain; the site’s own text and code belong to the publisher.

Changes

These terms may be updated when the site changes. The version on this page applies from the date it is published.
